After such a long time of darkness and pain
the light came finally back.
The darkness that had been so long
had made my heart so sad.
Not one bad word had passed our lips
not even a goodbye.
You just stood up and went away
without telling me why.

And then there was light, real vaguely at first
untill t'was all the way bright.
Your face had shown up in a letter to me
no longer it was dark as the night.
Now all I can do is smile the whole day
for I got a word from you
No longer is everything dark around me
no longer do I feel so blue.
